Members attended a live stream presentation by Professor Ian Clark, presented jointly with the Glen Eira Historical Society, on the Aboriginal history of the area.
The presentation focused on the legacy of leading Indigenous personalities such as Derrimut, and the places that were important to the Woiwurrung and Boonwurrung peoples. Topics included meeting places in St Kilda, Caulfield and other bayside areas, waterways and lagoons used for food gathering, and seasonal movements across these areas.

Professor Ian Clark has been researching and publishing Victorian Aboriginal history since 1982 and holds a doctorate in Aboriginal historical geography.
Based in Ballarat, he has been Manager of the Brambuk Aboriginal Cultural Centre in Halls Gap and a Research Fellow in History at the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies in Canberra.
Professor Clark took early retirement from Federation University Australia, where he was Professor of Tourism Management. He is currently a Professor (Research) in the Monash Indigenous Studies Centre, Monash University, and an Adjunct Professor at Federation University.
